Videojet 6210 Thermal Transfer Overprinter

Variable, High Resolution Images on Flexible Packaging From The New Videojet 6210 Thermal Transfer Overprinter

For Immediate Release

WOOD DALE, IL. (USA) – February 21, 2007 – The new Videojet 6210 thermal transfer overprinter (TTO) from Videojet Technologies provides an affordable, easy-to-use solution for printing high resolution, digital images on a wide range of flexible packaging. The Videojet 6210, launching in emerging market economies including Brazil, China and India, offers increased production uptime and efficiency versus traditional non-digital technologies, such as hot stamp or roller coders.

The Videojet 6210 prints 300 dpi images on a wide variety of flexible packaging materials, and is well-suited for applications in the snack food, bakery, confectionery, frozen and refrigerated foods, bagged fresh vegetables and dried fruits markets.

The internal clock function in the Videojet 6210 provides on-line printing of variable and real-time data such as best by date, time, shift code, batch and lot codes, and production line ID. The intuitive, graphical user interface and color touch screen incorporate easy to learn icon-based controls and a WYSIWYG image display, allowing operators to quickly change printing jobs, while reducing set up errors.

The Videojet 6210 features a proven, clutchless ribbon drive that is highly reliable, resulting in long, uninterrupted production runs. Optimal ribbon tension is consistently maintained, virtually eliminating ribbon-related downtime. And with a 600 meter ribbon length capacity, VJ 6210 production runs last over 30% longer than those of hot stamp before a ribbon change is required.

The bi-directional ribbon drive allows unused ribbon to be recaptured after each print, maintaining a 1 mm gap between prints from the beginning to the end of a ribbon roll. The result of this highly efficient system is more prints per roll, which reduces ribbon related spending.

“The Videojet 6210 is designed to provide high quality, digital print at a low total cost of ownership”, states Kent Morris, TTO business unit manager for Videojet. “This system is easy-to-use and maintain, and provides lower maintenance and increased uptime compared to other non-digital equipment”.
