Videojet announced the launch of three new inks for their 1000 Line of continuous inkjet printers

WOOD DALE, Ill. — April 24, 2012 — Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, announced the launch of three new inks for their 1000 Line of continuous inkjet printers. Videojet developed the new V489-C pigmented black ink, V438-D black heat-cure ink and V413-D black returnable bottling ink to fulfill specialized customer requirements and applications.

“Videojet is focused on meeting our customers’ unique application needs while ensuring maximum printer uptime,” said John Kirschner, Videojet supplies business marketing director. “And all Videojet fluids are designed to provide optimum print quality and greater uptime. With over 340 application-unique products, Videojet manufactures more fluids and supplies than any other industrial coding and marking manufacturer.”

Pigmented Black Ink
Further expanding applications for its Videojet 1710 printer, the V489-C pigmented ink is specially formulated to resist ink code transfer when printed onto light-colored extruded cables and wires. The ink is also suitable for coding onto metal food cans and flexible film pouches that are stacked during the retort cooking process— reducing the risk of product-to-product ink transfer that may sometimes occur with dye-based inks.

The V489-C black pigment ink provides exceptional transfer resistance and adhesion, improved uptime and high contrast codes all of which help optimize packaging operations.

Black Heat-Cure Ink
This heat-curable, high performance black ink is specifically designed to enable printing onto industrial parts and components that require solvent resistant codes and/or exceptional code durability. The V438-D black heat-cure ink is most suited for auto, aerospace and durables part marking; processed food and electronic parts marking applications. Beyond providing outstanding adhesion and uptime, the ink provides customers with superior solvent resistance.

Black Returnable Bottling Ink
Beer and beverage glass bottlers can take advantage of this top performing black ink that not only improves ink code adhesion when printed onto cold-filled, returnable glass bottles, but also can be removed easily during a standard caustic wash process employing commonly used wash additives such as a surfactant or a detergent when bottles are returned for refilling. The practice of returnable bottles allows bottlers to establish or increase their sustainability efforts – minimizing waste and increasing recycling.

As soft drink and brewery bottlers continue their diligence on reducing “no-code, no-run” production lines, the V413-D black ink helps keep pace by providing the best overall ink adhesion to assure product traceability. And with easy to read “best by” codes that are reliably printed, distribution partners are able to efficiently rotate stock at different points throughout their supply chains. This helps reduce waste from out-of-date product and ensures the freshest product is stocked on store shelves.

Videojet Introduces Next Generation 1550 AND 1650 inkjet Printers Designed To Continously Improve Uptime And Reduce Coding Errors

New Printers Increase Equipment Availability and Drive OEE

WOOD DALE, Ill. — November 19, 2012 — Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids and accessories for the product identification industry, today introduced two next generation printers to its reliable 1000 Line – the 1550 and 1650 inkjet printers. Designed with new features to promote productivity and profitability, the 1550 and 1650 inkjet printers provide metrics to measure as well as the tools to measure and improve uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Simple to operate, the 1550 and 1650 also include Code Assurance features to help reduce coding errors and ensure the right code is printed on the right products.

With an innovative design to provide customers with high Availability for production lines and the right metrics to track it, the Videojet 1550 and 1650 printers reduce unplanned downtime through features like the patented CleanFlow™ printhead and Dynamic Calibration™ ink flow system. Designed to resist ink build-up that can lead to a shutdown, both the 1550 and 1650 possess an auto-cleaning function, meaning there are less frequent printhead cleanings and positive flow of filtered air for more reliable, clear and consistent codes, even at the end of long production runs. The unique printhead design and long-lasting core minimizes planned downtime due to long intervals – up to 14,000 hours – between planned routine maintenance cycles.

The 1550 and 1650 inkjet printers also help customers measure Uptime by providing OEE Availability metrics. The Availability measure is also configurable to more closely reflect how customers operate production lines and measure Availability across their plant. “Every company strives for 100 percent production line uptime. A recent survey by Videojet of customers representing over 400 1000 Line printers on active production lines showed an average 99.9 percent Availability in the previous month.¹ Videojet’s 1550 and 1650 inkjet printers allow customers to shrink downtime and expand Availability,” said Dennis Howe, Vice President of Business Management for Videojet.

PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS FOR PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

Beyond providing an Availability metric, users need to be able to identify and eliminate the major root causes of unplanned downtime to improve it. The Videojet 1550 and 1650 printers present downtime information in a logical way to support efficient and effective problem solving. The printer enables drilling into Availability data to help discover technical and operator causes of downtime. Understanding root cause is critical to implement and achieve sustainable process improvements.

THE RIGHT CODE TO KEEP BRANDS STRONG

Coding errors are common – codes that are one digit off, dates that don’t exist, codes on wrong products, typing errors. These mistakes can mean waste, rework, regulatory fines and potential damage to a manufacturer’s brand. Operator error is the most prevalent cause of coding mistakes. The Videojet 1550 and 1650 possess Code Assurance features to foolproof and help prevent mistakes, keeping customer production lines productive and ensuring brand integrity.

EASE WORRIES WITH SIMPLE OPERATION

The Videojet 1550 and 1650 are designed for limited and simple interaction so users can focus on production. Operators can access all common operations in five touches or less on a large, bright touchscreen interface. The 1550 and 1650 help provide improved control of job parameters and efficient, productive line management. Baosheng Group Maximizes Uptime In A Tough Environment With Videojet Solution

New Videojet 3430 Laser Coder Features Best-in-Class Speeds, Flexible Integration

For Immediate Release

WOOD DALE, Ill. (USA) – May 30, 2007 – Combining high-speed coding and 50 watts of laser power in one mobile unit, the new Videojet® 3430 laser marking system from Videojet Technologies Inc. provides best-in-class speeds for high-throughput lines and an IP65-rated housing for increased reliability, even in dirty and wet environments. Flexible system components like an articulated arm and a small marking head provide seamless integration in tight production line areas.

“With marking speeds up to 2,000 characters per second and line speeds up to 50 feet per second, the Videojet 3430 delivers the highest speeds in its class,” says Dr. Dietmar Gnass, director of research and development for Videojet’s Laser Business Unit. “No other laser coder provides such high data throughput and permanent, crisp quality marks without degradation of code clarity.”

The Videojet 3430 is ideally suited for applications demanding fast and flexible data transfer and marking processes, such as beverage, brewing, food, packaging, and extrusion applications. Moderate-speed lines, such as those in the personal care products, pharmaceuticals and industrial component industries, will also benefit from the superior speed and resolution of the Videojet 3430 laser.

Because of its integrated user interface, small marking head, and flexible, articulated arm, the laser integrates quickly and easily into any production line and allows the system to be moved to different lines as coding needs change. The IP65-rated stainless steel housing and self-contained cooling system ensure high uptime even in dirty, dusty and wet environments.
Additional advantages of the Videojet 3430 include the ability to choose from languages for display on the user interface, and the password-protected security levels provided by the proven Windows®-based SmartGraph™ software. With high reliability and no consumables as inks, solvents or compressed air required, the system sets new standards for economical and maintenance-free operation.

The launch of the Videojet 3430 completes a full line of best-in-class, state-of-the-art laser marking systems from Videojet. This family of laser coders includes the 10-watt Videojet 3120, the 30-watt Videojet 3320 and the 50-watt Videojet 3430 systems.
